Re: '91 DR 650 RS derestriction?
Hello,
----german version----
there's a piece of plastic in the carburetor. You must open the black cover at the carburetor. There`s a about 25mm long piece of plastic which is fit to the cover. When you have remove it the engine has the full power.
-------
I hope your rs is restricted in the same way as the german version!!!
Bye
Kami
Sorry my English is terrible!!!!

Re: '91 DR 650 RS derestriction?
Thanks Kami,
Well that sounds easy! Do I need to change any jets, etc. in the carburettor after I've removed the restrictor or will it work fine just as it is? My bike is actually from Germany, imported by my workmate and your english is fine!
Danke,
Marius

Re: '91 DR 650 RS derestriction?
On my DR 650 (SP41B) I had to replace the cover of the Carburetor (to remove the plastic spacer) and the needle to gain full power.
Actually that is quite easy.

Re: '91 DR 650 RS derestriction?
I see. What did you replace the cover with? And do you mean the jetneedle in inside the carburetor? Where can I get those parts?

Re: '91 DR 650 RS derestriction?
I got a complete set from my local Suzuki Dealer, which consists of a new cover (with a shorter spacer inside) and a new jetneedle.
For me both needles looked the same, but had different numbers.

Frostie,
Could you tell me the name of the dealer or alternatively a mailorder company where I could order that kit? It's next to impossible get derestricter kits for older Suzukis here in Finland. How much did your kit cost?

Re: '91 DR 650 RS derestriction?
Sorry. I don´t know the price anymore. I bought it nearly 11 years ago
But I can ask the dealer what the kit costs and where you can order it. But that wouldn´t be before Monday.
How about asking Suzuki Finland (www.suzuki.fi) where to get the kit?
What´s the type number of your DR?
