DR 650 tuning?

Hi all,

I've now started to take apart my '93 RSE (sp43b). It had a motor defekt so I bought a sp41b engine for the street-supermoto project.

You guys seem to know a lot about DR650's so I'd like to get your opinion about tuning the bike.

I have couple of questions:

1) What should I check / change when I take the sp41b motor apart?

2) Is it worth buying a bigbore -kit (wiseco or JT-pistons), tuning nockenwelle (ABP) and have the cylinderhead ported?

3) What about Mikuni Flaschieber? What size carburettor should I get? If I get this, should I modify the airbox and how is this done or should I remove it completely and install a K&N single pod airfilter?

4) About the exhaust. I want to have a better sounding and performing exhaust system and I want to keep the double exhaust system for the looks. Is there a two muffler system available for the RSE? Alternatively, I could buy two slip-ons made for some other bike (like BSM Vampire or Hurric), buy a Holeshot krummer and have my friend build the Y-piece from stainless steel. What would you do?

I'm willing to spend max 1500 euro in the performance tuning.

So, my question is:

How would you tune a sp43b with a sp41b engine if you had 1500 euro to spend?

Thanx in advance for any tips!
